Make the reference understandable.
A short alias, a category and a review date help identify what an entry represents without storing account numbers or private identifiers.
Review rather than overwrite the context.
When you update an amount, review the date as well. A snapshot can retain the earlier totals as a reference point, but it is not a complete audit trail of every edit.
Keep a separate copy.
Browser storage can disappear when you clear data, change profiles or move devices. Export a backup when you want a copy you can restore later. The export is readable JSON and needs appropriate storage.
